The Summer Reading Program encourages children in grades K-12 to keep their reading skills sharp during summer vacation, and also helps them save money - Commerce will deposit $10 into a new or existing Young Savers account for each child who completes his/her reading challenge of 10 books.

Summer Reading Program brochures are available in all Commerce Bank stores and online at commerceonline.com from April 15 through September 30.

Each year, students in elementary schools across Commerce’s footprint enjoy Executive Reading Week, the kick-off of Commerce’s annual Summer Reading Program. Commerce executives partner with elementary schools across the regions we serve to read to young students, and then donated the books to the schools’ libraries. The books, chosen for their message about the importance of saving money, are from the Summer Reading Program’s recommended reading list of financially-themed children’s books.
